In 1841, Hobson was made the first Governor of New Zealand. Around 40 chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi on 6th February 1840. About eight copies of the Treaty were made and they were sent around the country to have more signatures. Did you know that William Hobson was eleven years old when he joined the Navy .Did you know that in 1840 february 6th the first person to sign the treaty of waitangi was Hone heke.Hone Heke means one powerful leader.

MY RESPONSIBILITY MAT
Today in class I have been doing a responsibility mat . The reason why I am doing this because it is part of our catholic faith which is one of the Saint Pius pillars. Something I found hard was outlining the clouds and the blue background and something I found easy is colouring the clouds.

Vili Sani Addition Subtraction Strategies Term 1 maths
Today in math we are learning to solve addition and subtraction with Place Value and Reversibility Strategies.
Place Value: When using Place Value strategy, you separate your numbers into 10's and 1's. We do this to make it easier to add. Watch my video below for an example.
Reversibility: When using this strategy you 'reverse' your subtraction problem becomes an addition problem. Watch my video below to see an example.
