Facts about Waitangi

 In 1841, Hobson was made the first Governor of New Zealand. Around 40 chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi on 6th February 1840. About eight copies of the Treaty were made and they were sent around the country to have more signatures.  Did you know that William Hobson was eleven years old when he joined the Navy .Did you know that in 1840 february 6th the first person to sign the treaty of waitangi was Hone heke.Hone Heke means one powerful leader.
